Newly Renovated Office for Denver-Based Hope Online Academy Co-Op Showcases the Nonprofit’s Strong Brand While Managing Construction Costs 

HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op is an online charter school system that serves Colorado students between sixth and twelfth grade through individualized instruction, community mentor support and high-quality curricula. To help in the execution of their strong mission, HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op needed to renovate their 21,300 SF main headquarters and education center in Englewood, Colorado.

Our Denver Tenant Solutions team met with HOPE Online to understand their specific vision and discuss design ideas that would create uniformity while elevating the brand. As a local nonprofit, HOPE Online also needed cost transparency and the ability to dollarize decisions. ARCO/Murray worked directly with the client to find and implement several design-build solutions such as:

• Mirroring HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op’s existing offices across the hallway, but refreshing the entire space with sleek new glass sidelites and raspberry purple walls for transparency and client branding – all while ensuring consistency and keeping costs low
• Using plastic laminate, a more durable and cost-effective material, for the large, high-end reception deck that still provided the design, function and ‘wow factor’ when first entering the space
• Installing several new light fixtures that matched existing ones, and then relocating the fixtures throughout the office for more optimal lighting

Construction commenced in November of 2021 and included the buildout of a new open office area, executive offices, private offices, reception areas, conference rooms and break areas. The project was completed in two phases to keep the office fully operational during construction. ARCO provided architectural design, MEP design, and permitting services in addition to construction oversight and execution. The project was completed in Spring 2022 and stayed within the initial budget throughout.
