Elwood, IL – October 11, 2024 – ARCO/Murray, a leader in turnkey construction solutions, is proud to partner with CJ Logistics and Korea Ocean Business Corporation (KOBC) on their new 1,105,500 SF logistics center in Elwood, Illinois. This facility aims to improve global supply chain efficiency in the region and strengthen economic connections between the U.S. and Korea.
The warehouse features a clear height of 40 ft and includes 130 dock positions, 120 of which are fully equipped. Additionally, it will feature 6,500 SF of office including a designated area for truck drivers and remote restrooms. Its strategic location near major logistics hubs, such as BNSF and Union Pacific rail lines and O’Hare International Airport, will facilitate quick distribution across the country. The incorporation of advanced automation aims to boost operational efficiency, which aligns with CJ Logistics’ supply chain innovation efforts.
In line with our sustainability goals, the building will be 38.5% solar-ready and is pursuing a LEED certification. The construction phase is expected to create around 350 temporary jobs, with over 300 permanent positions available once operational, contributing positively to the local economy.
