ARCO/Murray Completes Self Storage Facility in South Orange, New Jersey

ARCO/Murray, leading experts in self storage construction, recently delivered another Class A facility on the East coast.

South Orange, New Jersey | June 18, 2024

ARCO/Murray partnered with Quinlan Development Group to deliver a 123,246 square foot self storage facility in South Orange, New Jersey. This multi-level facility comprises three above-ground floors and an underground basement, optimizing the available square footage of the lot space. Extra Space Storage will operate this fully conditioned facility, which will include 966 ready to rent storage units.

The completed project site is conveniently located off of a major New Jersey highway, Highway 78, and less than 20 minutes from the nearby prominent international airport, Newark Liberty. The new self storage facility will be an accessible and useful amenity to the surrounding residential suburbs of both South Orange and Maplewood New Jersey.

In addition to storage, ARCO/Murray collaborated with the  South Orange city government to construct an in-house  community center that includes diverse spaces such as art galleries for local emerging artists, accessible meeting rooms, and general public areas to foster community engagement. The exterior façade work showcases cast stone with brick accents, complementing the city’s “Old Town” charm. The buildings’ East Side features a 55 ft X 50 ft EIFS screen that will provide a platform to stream any movies/media, which is perfectly positioned to overlook Founder’s Park.

This Extra Space Storage facility marks the third completed project between ARCO/Murray and Quinlan Development Group. Shubham Mahajan served as the Project Manager while Superintendent, Matt Pitzen, oversaw the day to day construction process.
